Fighter salaries for UFC 84

BJ Penn’s successful defense of his UFC lightweight title on Saturday netted him nearly a quarter of the entire fighter payroll at UFC 84: Ill Will.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the Hilo native pocketed $250,000 for his TKO victory over former champ Sean Sherk. Penn earned $125,000 for showing up to fight and another $125,000 for winning the fight. The entire UFC 84 payroll for the twenty-two fighters totaled $1,098,000.

Each winner except for Wanderlei Silva received a win bonus equivalent to their guaranteed pay.

Pancrase finalizes June 1 card

Pancrase has announced the complete lineup for the fifth stop of its "2008 Shining Tour" on Sunday, June 1 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
 
Middleweight King of Pancrase Izuru Takeuchi will defend his title against the undefeated "Junior" out of the Chute Boxe Academy. 
 
Kei Yamamiya, the number one ranked light-heavyweight in Pancrase, will move down to middleweight to take on the struggling Hiromitsu Kanehara in the main event.
 
This will be Pancrase’s second show in two weeks.
