MFC Prez: ‘Drew Fickett will never fight in the MFC’

According to the President of Maximum Fighting Championship, UFC veteran Drew Fickett will no longer be allowed to compete for the Canadian-based promotion.

The two have had a battle of words ever since Fickett agreed on one day’s notice to compete as Joe Riggs’ replacement at this past Friday’s Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Thomson event. Fickett wasn’t aware that it would have violated his MFC contract and when Strikeforce was notified, the group removed Fickett to avoid any legal issues.

Bisping vs. Leben to headline UFC 89

Michael Bisping will square off against Chris Leben in the main event of UFC 89 on October 19 at The National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.

UFC UK President Marshall Zelaznik announced the middleweight bout during an appearance on the "Setanta Sports Ultimate Talk Show" on Setanta Sports 1, which is the exclusive channel in England for live UFC events.
